Just regular guys living an ordinary rural town in NSW, Australia!
This is just to add some context for where my characters live. It’s based on my own experience growing up and living in the North West / New England area.I still need to draw my characters just doing stuff in the town. I’ll get around to it eventually when I start practicing backgrounds more. Want to replace all the placeholder images eventually.—My characters live in a town called Mount Narroy. It first established as a gold rush town in the late 1850s. Today Narroy is town of around 25k people. The outer areas are known for sheep & canola farming. It’s inspired by the towns of Armidale, Coonabarabran, Dubbo, Tamworth & Nundle.
I haven’t decided where Narroy is exactly (and I probably won’t), but it’s somewhere in the Northern Tablelands.The town had always had a rich history of creativity and traditional craftsmanship, and the council opened a folk & indigenous art gallery to boost tourism in the 70s, and is now known as the art capital of the region as well as their bi-monthly artisan crafts market. This reputation has boosted their population with younger folks who want to get out of the city and move into an artistic countryside.
The Railway Hotel
The oldest still-standing pub in town, serving the community of Narroy since 1889. Mostly popular with the older folks getting a schooner after work.
Narroy High School
One of the two public high schools in Narroy. Darcy is in year 12 at this high school, & Maverick, Buckie, Tillie, & Donny went to this school. Their uniform is a light blue plaid with the school emblem on the dress shirt.
Crafts Market
The bi-monthly artisan crafts market, located at the town park, it’s where the community can buy and sell handmade goods such as art, jewellery, candles.
Narroy Regional Art Gallery
Located next to the town library, Narroy gallery was built in 1974 and displays local folk & aboriginal art. Dunn works here as an assistant curator!
Valour Ink
The tattoo shop Beetle opened up 2 years ago, specialising in custom designs.
Aboriginal Youth Centre
Narroy Aboriginal Youth Centre is a facility that provides the community with a range of programs, events & activities. The Youth Council meetings are also held here each month.
MacDonald River
In 1857, gold was found in the river and started the Narroy gold rush. Soon a mining village was established and Narroy kept growing over the years. Today, it’s a popular destination for fossickers looking to find small amounts of gold, sapphires & zircon.
Narroy Gold Rush Festival
During the spring of each year, Narroy celebrates its rich gold history with a gold rush festival! There are many activities, craft stalls, dragon puppets & historic reenactments.
Maverick!

Didn't get along with Maverick growing up. Got into a lot of fights expecially during the teenage years. Feeling regretful, she now gives them support, trying to help them find a job, help them financially etc.
